I’ve found myself more and more sucked into the world of Weird FRP... So much so that my long-running Classic Traveller and the development of my own T&T OSR game has slipped on to the back-burner for a while.
Weird FRP is definitely a campaign game but I don’t want every adventure to fall into the ‘totally Weird’ category; I don’t want a fantasy-Cthulu (or similar). However, I am going to kick off with Weird - most likely the introductory adventure (Stargazer).
Anyhoo. here is the tiny country of Esvidenia. A land-locked region to the east of the Galean Rift.
It’s not quite finished (some of the towns and villages don’t have names allocated as yet but my notes are written.
Exvidenia is a desperately poor state that’s been plagued with war, famine and, well, plague. I’m aiming for a gritty, northern Poland-kin-of feel. Nine months of grim winter followed by a bleak stretch of cold rain. Bogs and marshes abound, much of the unpopulated areas are truly wild - what funds the state doesn’t lose to corrupt politicians is spent on maintaining the nobility and an ineffectual standing army.
